For citizens

Welcome to Swapsac.

You're joining through your municipality. This page tells you what Swapsac is, how to get started, and what your town hall can and cannot see.

What is Swapsac?

Swapsac is a local sharing platform. You exchange objects and services with people near you - give away things you no longer need, borrow what you do, offer a skill, find help with something.

No ads. No data selling. Just people near you helping each other.

Your municipality joined Swapsac to stay connected with local life - publishing news, events and surveys directly to citizens like you, without going through social media.

Getting started

Three steps.

1

Create your account

Go to swapsac.com/register and choose Citizen as your account type. Enter your personal details and your city - Swapsac works locally, so your location matters.

2

Confirm your email

Click the verification link in your inbox. This activates your account.

3

Explore your local area

Browse listings, services and events near you. Once your municipality publishes, your local Gazette (swapsac.com/gazette) shows what's happening in your city - official announcements from your municipality alongside community activity.

What you can do on Swapsac

📦

Give, lend or sell objects

That ladder in your garage, the books you've finished, the bicycle gathering dust. List it and someone nearby will find it.

🤝

Offer your skills

Repair, teach, transport, childcare. Your time and skills are valuable to someone near you.

🔍

Find what you need

Browse listings and services near you. Message someone directly, no middleman. You might just make a friend.

📅

Join or create local events

Repair cafés, swap parties, community clean-ups, municipal events. Find what's happening near you - or organise something yourself.

🗳️

Have your say

Your municipality posts surveys directly on Swapsac. Your voice shapes your local area.

🌱

Track your impact

Every completed exchange shows you CO₂ avoided and your personal contribution to the local circular economy.

🔔

Stay informed

When your municipality starts publishing, open the Gazette at swapsac.com/gazette and tap "Get notified by email" to subscribe. You'll then receive an email whenever it publishes news, events or urgent notices.

Your Gazette

The Gazette is your local noticeboard - official news from your municipality alongside community life. It is not in the main navigation for now: open it at swapsac.com/gazette.

Your municipality can publish announcements, events and surveys here directly. Once it does, open the Gazette and tap "Get notified by email" to receive its updates by email.

Your privacy

Your personal exchanges, messages and account details are yours. Your municipality sees only aggregated, anonymised data about circular economy activity across the whole city - never your individual activity.
